Filipino painter Nelson Castillo’s “Metamorphosis” is an outstanding example of art shape-shifting. While art dares the observers to discern meaning and discover value; they aim to create imagery that entices a retort and inquisitiveness, and if done well, art provokes thought.

Because of this imprecise and comprehensive nature, art spans an implausible gamut of ideas and themes, restricted only by each individual artist’s ability to convey their meaning. Even more, the meaning is something different in the eye of each beholder and that resourcefulness is the beauty of art.

Who is better to portray that than an artist, Nelson Castillo, who is enamored with visual illusions and tricks – making one thing seem like several from two different angles.

Sepia nude watercolour painting is a monochromatic study of a woman fusing the principles of figurative expressionism highlighting the deepest emotions while using only one colour to effectively express it. The seated model with her back to the viewer depicted from the high angle, looking sideways upon the figure.

Rafael Cusi’s sepia nude signifies primal emotion that is a core expressionistic theme of this artwork. Cusi’s brushstrokes drive the viewer to experience the bodily gestures, postures, and facial expressions communicating essential seductive state of being.

The artist, Fidel Sarmiento, has turned this contemporary painting of such fine ceramic quality.  These “Condo Series” acrylic art on plates are artist impressions of Filipino modern dwelling units using architectural abstraction contrary speaks similarly to his ancestral home theme setting.

We are inviting everyone to the First Art Exhibit of ARTQUATICA ARTISTS CIRCLE and VISUAL ARTISTS OF PARANAQUE entitled OBRA DE AGUA on December 8, 2015 to be held at Alabang Country Club, Muntinlupa City, Philippines. The Opening reception will be on December 8, 2015 at about 5:30pm and the Art Exhibit will run until January 8, 2016.

The VISUAL ARTISTS OF PARANAQUE (VAP) is an Art Group of Visual Artists from Paranaque, Philippines, who aims to help and promote the visual artists of Paranaque through various art events and exhibits.

The ARTQUATICA ARTISTS CIRCLE (AAC) is a group of Filipino Visual Artist who loves to paint aquatic and marine life.
